WHAT WAS AMERICA'S
LARGEST EXPORT IN
2011???
Was it corn, soybeans, coal, technology, airplanes,
automobiles?
****** Fasten your seatbelts!! ******
By

How
often have we heard politicians making the case for more oil
drilling; you know, in Alaska, the Gulf of Mexico, pristine U.S.
national parks? We have heard: "Drill baby drill", or "We will
only become energy independent if we tap American oil", or -
-"Those prices at the pump will soar if we do not drill in the
U.S. for more oil."
And on
and on it goes.
Lies! Now listen very carefully seniors: America's largest export
in the year 2011 was - - - energy!
Read it again. ENERGY.
Americans have conserved, bought more efficient cars, and power
plants have been switching from coal and oil-fired generation to
cheaper, American, natural gas. The result of these things, and a
slower economy, has resulted in a glut, a huge oversupply,
of gasoline, diesel fuel, and jet fuel.
Hooray!!! Right?
Wrong!!
Instead
of selling refined fuel in America, enabling prices to drop,
refiners and oil companies sold an all-time record $88 BILLION,
mainly gasoline, to the highest bidder in far-flung countries.
Instead of helping America to become energy independent, with
lower gasoline prices at our pumps, they have forced, and are
still forcing our gasoline prices to soar. Instead of rising, gas
prices would have dropped if the oil companies and refiners had
sold their product here at home. They have caused an artificial
shortage for their own profit.
WE
HOPE YOU ARE OUTRAGED, AND WILL EMAIL OR CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVE,
SENATORS, AND THE PRESIDENT. Tell them to threaten sanctions if
oil companies and refiners do not keep gasoline in America.
